Times..A Reality!

Today is the happiest day in my life. I got through Times Of India!! I cannot express my gratitude in words, which i feel towards my guru and everyone else who had faith in me. As soon as i came to know about the result, i called up vishal, my childhood friend and a YES+ teacher to share the news. He was very happy and equally glad that i got the job. He faith in me and had told me that i will get this job. I don’t know my joining date as yet or what my salary would be but i was told that the details would be given to me by next week. Thank you for your wishes!

Saga Continues…New Moon!

I know you guys will say that i ‘m acting like a small girl but i can’t say this with a poker face..New moon will be releasing in Kolkata on 4th of december! I can’t wait  to watch the second installment in the twilight series. From the time i have read the book, which frankly to say was a little over emotional(sob!..ugh!), i can’t wait to watch the wolves and the volturi on the silver screen. From the looks of the trailer  they have done justice to the volturi but have made the wolves look tame, where as they were described in the book to be ferocious and huge in size. All said and done but this still looks far much better than Twilight which was un-exciting(yawn!) The lead single by Death Cab For Cutie is simply amazing! The first time i heard it i could practically feel the pain of seperation! You have to listen to the song to believe what i’m saying.You can download the video in the download section. DJ With Armin Van Buuren

There’s an English magazine called Computer Music dedicated to music production and they had released a special issue, ‘DJ Guide 2009′, with a headline interview from Armin and a 15-minute video on the enclosed CD-ROM entitled ‘How To DJ with Armin van Buuren, World’s Number One DJ’ supposedly allowing you to ’see the tricks and techniques that have put him on top’.

The video was recorded before his gig at Ministry of Sound in April and it’s basically Armin talking for quarter of an hour at the decks, a mixture of general DJ advice and showing how he uses cue points on the CDJ1000s together with some of the basic effects on the DJM800 mixer. Rendezvous With Times!

I had an interview today in Times Of India. Inspite of this being my 7th interview i was nervous. The interview was scheduled at 11 o’clock. I reached the Times office by 10:30 and was greeted by the security outside the reception counter. I explained to him my purpose of visit and he asked me to wait in the reception. To my suprise when i entered the office, i felt at ease. The enviorment was formal yet friendly. Soon other candidates joined me in the reception who like me had come for the interview. Our interview was to be taken by Mr. Amit Dutta. When my turn came for the interview, i felt butterflies in my stomach!  I controlled myself and walked into a room where Amit and a lady were waiting for me. After glancing through my cv, amit came across my hobbies and asked me to describe music production.. Man was i happy!..Atlast someone took notice of my hobbies! I told him about my radio station and and the different genres of music i use to host..He then asked me about blogging and also checked my blog, and asked me questions pertaining to my skills and why i wanted to join Times and not my family business. After about 10 minutes, he thanked me and said that he would let my agency know of the result. To be frank guys, this was the best interview i have given so far and amit was by far the coolest interviewer i had come across. Keeping my fingers crossed!
